Where can you sleep tonight?

The closest places with a published rule that lets you stay — or where nothing prohibits it.

Your location stays in this browser. The list is worked out here — nothing about where you are is sent to this site, and nothing is saved on this device. The map draws its tiles from OpenFreeMap, which like any map host sees the area you are looking at.

Somewhere for the day?

Every free public shower in the country from the government's own register, and every public library — warm, free, and nobody moves you on.

Being asked to move on?

Who can actually make you, what they have to tell you, and what to do afterwards. Move-on powers are state law, so this starts with where you are.

What the finder covers

2,328 places across 333 council areas, from the road authorities' own registers. It lists somewhere only if a published rule permits staying or nothing prohibits it — which is why Western Australia has 44 entries and not 1,673: there, camping in a vehicle is an offence except where a sign says otherwise.

The law differs by state in kind, not degree. Queensland permits a 20-hour stop, New South Wales opens rest areas around the clock but says not to camp in them, South Australia has no State law against it, and Western Australia bans it unless signed. Each place links to the rule that applies to it.

Every legal statement here carries its source: the instrument or official page, the exact wording, and the date it was checked. Where a rule has not been read yet the page says unknown, which is never permission. There are no crowd-sourced spots on this site and never will be — rules, not spots.
